ARYx’s drug products are carefully constructed and optimized to alter and improve metabolism while maintaining established efficacy. Throughout our drug design and optimization process, our scientists keep four objectives in mind:

Efficacy

The drug candidate must act on the same target as the parent drug from which it is based and end up with comparable or better efficacy.

Drug interactions

The drug candidate must be quickly metabolized primarily by a pathway other than cytochrome P450 oxidase.

Cardiac toxicity

The drug candidate must not negatively impact normal heart function.

Other toxicities

The drug candidate must not result in known toxic metabolites.
